Polsinelli Deepens Real Estate Finance Roster, Welcoming Kristian J.F. Bornemann

Am Law 100 firm Polsinelli welcomes real estate finance attorney Kristian J.F. Bornemann as principal in the firm’s San Francisco office. Bornemann joins the firm’s national Real Estate Finance Practice, having broad experience in all aspects of real estate financing transactions. Prior to joining Polsinelli, Bornemann was at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.

Bornemann’s practice includes new loan originations and borrower refinancings, open-end credit facilities and revolvers, property sales and acquisitions, loan assumptions, permitted and non-permitted transfers, restructures, modifications, consents, forbearances and workouts.

“Kristian has extensive experience representing participants in each stage of the lifecycle of a loan, offering a unique range of perspectives to his clients,” said Polsinelli Financial Services Division Practice Chair John T. Duncan III. “He understands his clients’ concerns and helps them identify, anticipate and understand potential hurdles before they become obstacles.”

Bornemann represents investment and commercial banks, life insurance companies, investment managers and mortgage bankers. He also works with sophisticated borrowers to secure financing for their transactions. For loans that are securitized, Bornemann represents primary and master servicers and asset managers in connection with their administration of such loans.

“Polsinelli has built an excellent reputation within Real Estate Finance, and clients appreciate the culture that’s been created,” Bornemann said. “I’m pleased to be part of this thriving team, and I look forward to growing my practice and delivering great results for my clients.”

Bornemann earned his bachelor’s degree from Lafayette College before obtaining a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.  Earlier in his career, he worked as a CMBS master servicer where he acquired servicing portfolios, negotiated pooling and servicing agreements, and worked with asset managers to resolve loan-level issues.

Bornemann joins Polsinelli’s expanding Real Estate and Financial Services Department, which recently welcomed attorneys Andrew Cromer, Dora Acherman and Louis D. Rubin in Miami, Rafael Santos-Hernández and Arielle Frost in New York, Amber L. Munday in Chicago, Lauren E. Hirt in Denver, Bradley E. Wright in Phoenix, and Robert J.
