Fox Rothschild welcomes Evan D. Winet to the San Franciso office as a Partner in the Taxation & Wealth Planning Department. Prior to joining Fox, Winet was of counsel at Weintraub Tobin.
“Evan has a deep understanding of fiduciary litigation and is an unwavering advocate for his clients,” said Michael A. Sweet, Fox’s San Franciso Office Managing Partner. “His work handling high-level disputes involving trusts and estates will benefit our clients throughout the state.”
Winet represents individual and professional fiduciaries as well as beneficiaries — including high-net-worth individuals and charitable organizations — in a variety of disputes. As an experienced trial lawyer, he employs a tailored approach to highly personal family disputes. When feasible, Winet works constructively to bridge divisions between parties to reach a pragmatic resolution. When the situation calls for litigation, he is tireless in defending his clients’ interests through trial and appeal.
Winet speaks frequently on issues relating to trust and estate litigation, has contributed articles on trust and estate litigation to the ACTEC Journal and the California Trusts & Estates Quarterly, is annual editor of the CEB Practice Guide for Probate & Trust Litigation and volunteers with the Litigation Subcommittee of the Trusts and Estates Executive Committee for the California Bar (TEXCOM).
Winet earned his J.D. from the University of California College of the Law, San Francisco, his Ph.D. from Stanford University, his M.A. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and his B.A. from Vassar College.
