Eversheds Sutherland is pleased to announce that Michael Lebovitz has joined the firm’s Tax Practice Group as a partner in its San Francisco office. With a focus on International Tax, Mr. Lebovitz deepens the firm’s international tax offerings and support for global clients across industries and jurisdictions. He is the latest attorney to join the firm’s new and growing San Francisco office, which opened its doors earlier this year. Prior to joining Eversheds Sutherland, Mr. Lebovitz was a partner at Mayer Brown, where he was co-leader of the International Tax and Transfer Pricing team.

A seasoned international tax attorney, Mr. Lebovitz provides international tax advice to a range of clients with respect to all aspects of international taxation, including joint ventures, cross-border mergers and acquisitions, post-transaction integration, international corporate finance, capital market transactions and general international tax planning matters.

“I am excited to welcome Mike to our Tax Practice Group and to our San Francisco office,” said Mark D. Wasserman, Co-CEO of Eversheds Sutherland. “Mike’s arrival is not only a significant step in our strategic and steady growth on the West Coast, his background and experience will benefit our clients with complex international tax needs.”

“Mike’s extensive experience on cross-border tax planning and policy matters will help us continue to provide superior service for our clients around the globe and strengthen the support our tax team provides on international tax matters at a time when the international tax landscape is experiencing fundamental change,” said Robert S. Chase, US Tax Practice Group Leader. “We share Mike’s commitment to client service, and we are thrilled to have him join our team.”

Mr. Lebovitz also advises multinational companies on intellectual property and supply chain planning in connection with transactions, US and Global Tax Reform and overall business operations. He has led global transfer pricing teams in connection with planning and documenting transfer pricing strategies.

“Mike’s arrival in the San Francisco office marks another milestone for us and the firm’s comprehensive offerings in California and the Bay Area,” said Baird D. Fogel, partner-in-charge of the San Francisco office. “He brings with him a wealth of knowledge in the tax space and I look forward to connecting him with our colleagues, practices and clients around the world.”

“Eversheds Sutherland’s renowned tax team, deep bench and global reach were the deciding factors in my decision to join the firm,” said Mr. Lebovitz. “I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues to provide my existing clients with a wider range of services and to build new relationships with international clients through the firm’s far-reaching network.”

A frequent speaker on international tax matters, he routinely lectures throughout the United States, Europe and Asia for organizations including the Tax Executives Institute, the International Fiscal Association and the American Bar Association.
