Dentons Grows Product Liability and Complex Torts Litigation Team

Dentons, the leading global law firm, announces the arrival of Michael E. Sandgren as a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. Resident in the Firm’s Oakland office, he will focus on representing manufacturers and distributors of industrial products in personal injury defense.

Sandgren brings more than 20 years of experience in toxic tort and environmental litigation representing building contractors and developers in disputes arising out of alleged exposure to asbestos, benzene, silica and other toxic substances. His extensive background includes toxic tort cases, environmental and multi-party real estate transactional disputes, and insurance coverage claims.

“We are pleased to welcome Michael to the Firm’s award-winning Litigation Practice,” said US CEO Mike McNamara. “He is an accomplished lawyer with proficient trial experience that will enhance our product liability capabilities.”

In addition to his litigation practice, Sandgren has participated in the California State Bar’s committees focused on the California Bar Examination and admission requirements. He earned his JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law and his BA from the University of Santa Cruz.

Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice consists of more than 200 lawyers in the United States, focusing on complex disputes in federal and state courts across the country, as well as before regulatory agencies, administrative bodies and arbitration tribunals. Dentons’ Litigation group has consistently received top rankings in leading trade publications, including The Best Lawyers in America, The Legal 500, Chambers USA, Law360’s “Top 50 Litigation Powerhouse Firms,” and Daily Report’s “Insurance Litigation Department of the Year.” The group is recognized in BTI Consulting’s 2018 top ranked “Fearsome Five” and “Fearsome Foursome,” crediting the litigators’ intense approach and fierce strategy on behalf of clients in the competitive legal market, as well as a “Powerhouse” in all eight litigation categories including Securities and Finance.
