Arent Fox Adds Real Estate Transactions Partner M.J. Pritchett to San Francisco Office

Arent Fox LLP is pleased to announce the expansion of both its nationally recognized Real Estate practice and its new San Francisco office with the addition of real estate transactions partner M.J. Pritchett. Mr. Pritchett joins Arent Fox less than a month after the addition of three Intellectual Property and Health Care attorneys to its Northern California office. He will focus his practice on real estate transactions involving acquisition, disposition, development, and leasing; secured lending and troubled debt resolution; and public finance and securitization.

“M.J. is one of the top real estate transaction lawyers in California and he will be a great addition to the San Francisco office,” said California Managing Partner Robert C. O’Brien. “He is well-versed in local Bay Area real estate deals and will provide clients in California with excellent legal service in one of the firm’s signature practice areas.”

Mr. Pritchett arrives from the San Francisco office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he was a partner for more than 20 years and served on the firm’s Professional Development Committee. He represents both borrowers and lenders in a wide variety of lending transactions, including multi-family loans, single-family rental portfolio secured loans, securitized loans, foreclosures and workouts, distressed debt transactions, and tax-exempt financings. His recent purchase and sale experience includes office buildings, hotels, apartments, industrial buildings, and mixed-use properties.

“I am happy to welcome M.J. to the San Francisco office and the Real Estate group,” said Real Estate partner and Sports group leader Richard L. Brand. “M.J.’s transactional skills and deep knowledge of the San Francisco real estate industry will be a great asset to our clients in California.”

Chambers USA and Legal 500 consistently rate Arent Fox’s Real Estate practice for its “top-quality” talent and industry-leading capabilities across a broad range of sectors. With over 50 attorneys focused on the real estate industry, Arent Fox is recognized nationally for its work counseling capital investors, developers, owners, lenders, and REITs in real estate finance, joint venture, and acquisition and disposition matters on both an individual asset and portfolio basis.

In June, Arent Fox opened its San Francisco office, located in the KPMG Building in the city’s Financial District, with five attorneys from the firm’s Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, DC offices.
