Lewis Brisbois Expands Workers’ Compensation Practice to Sacramento With Three Hires

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Partners Ryan Frazier, Angela Trueblood, and Associate Chie Walker to its Workers’ Compensation Practice.

The trio will extend the practice’s presence to Lewis Brisbois’ Sacramento office, which hasn’t had a workers’ compensation presence in its 20-year history, and enable Lewis Brisbois to better serve its clients throughout California.

“We have been asked for years by clients and partners in the firm to defend claims in the Sacramento area. Although our San Francisco office could accommodate and handle such claims, many clients prefer local counsel for cost containment issues. We have now found the right talent to meet this demand,” said Workers’ Compensation Practice Co-Chair Frank Cannizzaro.

The team will primarily cover cases before the Sacramento, Stockton, Chico, Redding, Marysville, Santa Rosa, and Fresno boards.

Frazier, who has been practicing workers’ compensation law in the Sacramento area since 2002, will manage the group. He has spent most of his career defending the rights of employers and insurers and is a certified specialist in the field of workers’ compensation.

“Joining Lewis Brisbois to develop their Workers’ Compensation Practice in Sacramento is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic, exciting team of dedicated professionals,” Frazier said.

Frazier is joined by Trueblood, who has more than 16 years of experience in workers’ compensation litigation. She regularly defends insurance carriers, permissible self-insured employers, and third party administrators in all areas of workers’ compensation, including against petitions for discrimination and serious and willful misconduct.

The Sacramento team is rounded out by Walker, who brings more than 10 years of legal experience in a variety of practice areas to Lewis Brisbois. Most recently, she has represented insurance carriers and employers in workers’ compensation matters.
