Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Dominika J. Batten has joined the Reno-Tahoe office as counsel in the Labor and Employment Practice Group. Prior to joining Snell & Wilmer, Batten was an associate attorney at Littler Mendelson, P.C. in Reno, where she represented employers in employment litigation and agency proceedings.
Batten represents employers in a broad range of labor and employment law matters, drawing on nearly 15 years of legal experience spanning public service and private practice. Batten counsels and defends employers on matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour, discipline, leave, and reasonable accommodation. She has extensive experience representing clients in proceedings before the Nevada Equal Rights Commission (NERC) and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), as well as litigating employment matters in both state and federal courts. She has represented the prevailing party in two published Nevada Supreme Court decisions involving statutory interpretation and standards of review in employment law*.
Before joining Littler, she served as Senior Associate General Counsel to the Nevada Commission on Judicial Discipline, where she provided legal counsel on judicial ethics and disciplinary proceedings. Before that role, she spent several years as a Deputy Attorney General with the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, advising state agencies on employment law matters and defending the state in administrative proceedings and litigation.
Batten earned her J.D. from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
