Littler Adds Employment Litigator Eric J. Uhl to its New Portland Office

Littler, the world’s largest employment and labor law practice representing management, has added Shareholder Eric J. Uhl to its Portland, Maine office. Uhl brings with him significant employment litigation experience, and his arrival follows Littler’s recent expansion into Portland with the addition of Shareholders Jonathan Shapiro, Melinda J. Caterine and David Strock.

Formerly a partner in Fisher & Phillips’ Boston and New England offices, Uhl has represented clients in employment-related claims before federal and state courts throughout the country and has particular experience in defending management in matters involving wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment and retaliation, wage and hour and unfair competition claims, and restrictive covenant agreements, among others. He regularly advises management and human resource professionals in a variety of employment matters such as hiring, discipline and termination practices, personnel policies and employee handbooks, wage and hour issues, non-competition and confidentiality provisions and negotiating severance packages.

Active in the professional community, Uhl is member of a number of professional organizations, such as the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor & Employment Law, the Association for Conflict Resolution, the Maine Association of Dispute Resolution Professionals, the Maine State Bar Association, the Massachusetts Bar Association, the Maine Trial Lawyers Association, and the State Bar of California.

Uhl has been widely recognized for his career achievements in publications including Chambers USA, Best Lawyers in America© and New England Super Lawyers. He received his J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
