Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Team Adds Simone McCormick

Lewis Brisbois is pleased to welcome Simone McCormick to its Portland office as a partner in the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice.

McCormick regularly advises clients across multiple sectors on data privacy compliance and best practices, data breach preparedness and response, and related corporate issues. She has particular experience with compliance and data privacy in the medical device and software app space.

In addition to her privacy work, McCormick counsels businesses on various employment-related issues, including contracts and policies and procedures. She has experience litigating employment and professional liability matters in federal and state courts and before administrative agencies.

“Simone brings a unique blend of data privacy and employment experience to our team,” said Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Chair Sean Hoar. “As our data breach response work continues to rapidly expand, her experience in data breach preparedness, response, and remediation will serve our clients well.”

McCormick is a Certified Information Privacy Professional for the U.S. (CIPP/US) through the International Association of Privacy Professionals and was chair of the 2017 DRI Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Seminar. She is admitted to practice in Oregon, California, and Washington.

“Lewis Brisbois has a great data privacy and cybersecurity team led by Sean Hoar, plus a robust healthcare practice and deep bench to tackle employment law issues on a national platform. These resources will enable me to better serve my clients, and I am excited to be here,” McCormick said.
