Dentons expands Commercial Litigation practice with Audrey Kwak

Dentons, the world’s largest global law firm, announces today that Audrey Kwak has joined the Firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice as a shareholder in the Pittsburgh office. Kwak joins from Eckert Seamans and brings more than 15 years of significant commercial litigation experience, including complex business, intellectual property and construction disputes.

Kwak regularly prosecutes and defends trade secret misappropriation, unfair competition claims, breach of contract disputes and trademark and copyright infringement claims. In her construction practice, Kwak handles matters relating to procurement, project management, nonpayment, delay, mechanics’ liens and defective work. She also regularly counsels business clients on compliance issues and how to prevent disputes in commercial contract and intellectual property matters.

“We are pleased to welcome Audrey Kwak to Dentons and know her depth of experience in commercial business disputes, with a particular focus on handling high-stakes construction and commercial contract disputes, will be greatly valued by clients,” said Morgan Hanson, Shareholder and Co-Leader, Litigation National Practice Group. “She understands clients’ business objectives, offers creative solutions, and is an ideal addition to our team.”

Before joining Dentons, Kwak was in private practice, where clients turned to her to represent them in trade secret litigation, contract actions, business tort claims, unfair competition claims and intellectual property disputes both in litigation and in proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board.

Active in the profession, Kwak is a Fellow of The Wendell G. Freeland Society, a member of the Allegheny County Bar Association’s Asian Attorneys Committee (former Chair, 2009-2011) and Diversity Collaborative Committee and the Women’s Bar Association of Western Pennsylvania (former Treasurer, 2010-2012). She also volunteers, providing legal counsel to immigrant families seeking a change of legal status to avoid deportation through We the Action. In 2021, the organization honored Kwak with an Amicus Mundi Award for her hundreds of hours of volunteer work helping an immigrant family avoid deportation.
