Squire Patton Boggs Strengthens IP&T Practice with Paris Hires

Squire Patton Boggs has expanded its Intellectual Property & Technology Practice in Paris with the addition of partner Catherine Muyl. She is accompanied by associate Marion Cavalier. They join the firm from Foley Hoag LLP.

A member of the Paris Bar, Ms. Muyl has experience in intellectual property law spanning over 30 years. She focuses on litigation concerning patents, trademarks, copyrights, related rights, registered designs and software . She also represents clients on trademark issues before the French and European Union Trademark Offices as well as on domain name disputes. Ms. Muyl also advises clients in the area of data protection, including on GDPR compliance, breach response and related litigation. Her clients include French companies and the French subsidiaries of U.S. companies spanning industries including technology, media, aerospace, healthcare and FinTech.

Ms. Cavalier practice encompasses patent, trademark and commercial litigation before French courts and arbitration tribunals. She is also a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) and advises global clients on compliance with privacy laws and regulations, including the GDPR. She also assists clients with all aspects of breach response, including DPA and individual notifications, coordination with IT and crisis management teams and litigation preparation. Her experience spans a broad range of industries with particular emphasis on the technology, media, telecommunications and life sciences sectors.
