Proskauer Continues Growth of Transactional Platform Welcoming Four Prominent Corporate Partners to its Paris Office

Proskauer, a leading international law firm, is pleased to announce the arrival of market-leading corporate partners Xavier Norlain, Jeremy Scemama, Maud Manon and Matthieu Lampel. They will all join the Firm’s Paris office and all come from Shearman & Sterling LLP.

Xavier, Jeremy, Maud and Matthieu have extensive experience and expertise in private and public M&A, leveraged finance, including direct lending, and restructuring. Their clients include prominent private equity investment sponsors, financial institutions (debt funds and banks) industrial and services groups, as well as management teams.

These latest hires bring the total number of lateral partner hires made this year to 14, seven of which have been outside of the Firm’s U.S. offices. Xavier, Jeremy, Maud and Matthieu will also be joined by a team of 15 lawyers.

Xavier Norlain is an M&A partner and advises investment funds on leveraged buyouts, venture capital and development capital transactions. He also advises managers in the negotiation of their status and their renumeration, as well as in the context of operations with investment funds. He graduated from HEC and received his M.A in Philosophy of Law from the University of Paris II – Pantheon Assas and his M.A in International Tax Law from Paris XI

Jeremy Scemama is an M&A partner who works with investment funds on leveraged buyouts, venture capital and development capital transactions. He also advises listed and non-listed industrial services groups on their corporate finance operations, restructuring and external growth operations, and has extensive experience in transactions involving securities matters. He received his M.A in International Law and International Commerce from the University of Paris II – Pantheon Assas.

Maud Manon is a Finance partner whose practice primarily focuses on LBOs and leveraged acquisition finance and she represents financial institutions (mainly debt funds) as well as sponsors and borrowers. Maud’s experience also extends to the acquisition finance of listed companies, public offerings, and block acquisitions and she advises debtors, creditors and/or sponsors in the context of complex leverage debt. Maud graduated from HEC and received her M.A in Business and Insolvency Law from University of Paris XI.

Matthieu Lampel is an M&A partner advising investment funds on leveraged buyouts, venture capital and development capital transactions, as well as domestic and international clients in a wide variety of M&A transactions. Matthieu focuses on a broad range of industry sectors, including financial services, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, technology, and consumer goods and retail and is a specialist in the implementation of French foreign investment regulations. He graduated from HEC and received his M&A in Business and Tax Law from the University of Paris I Sorbonne.
