Clifford Chance Strengthens its Restructuring Practice With The Arrival of Delphine Caramalli as a Partner

Leading international law firm Clifford Chance announced today that Delphine Caramalli is to join the Firm’s global Restructuring and Insolvency practice as a partner in the Paris office.
Delphine is specialised in financial restructuring, insolvency proceedings and mergers and acquisitions related to reorganisation and reversal operations. She works alongside domestic and international investors, private equity funds, hedge funds and other lenders. She also advises shareholders or buyers in their restructuring or external growth operations. She began her career as a lawyer in 2001 in the mergers and acquisitions department of Fried Frank, successively in London, New York and Paris, and joined Weil Gotshal & Manges in 2005. Delphine moved to STC Partners as a partner in 2008 and then joined Bremond & Associés in 2012.

Delphine’s arrival will strengthen the Paris Restructuring and Insolvency team, and more generally the top-ranked global Restructuring and Insolvency practice within the Firm, which is renowned for its international restructuring and insolvency expertise. The hire follows Ilse van Gasteren’s promotion to partner in the group in Amsterdam in 2018, and Michelle McGreal joining the team in New York earlier this year.

Yves Wehrli, Managing Partner of the Paris office, said: “We are delighted to welcome Delphine, who is a recognised expert in the market. Her expertise and reputation, combined with the Clifford Chance platform, will best meet the needs and expectations of our clients.”

Philip Hertz, Global Head of Restructuring and Insolvency said: “Delphine is a key high profile addition to the Firm’s existing restructuring and insolvency expertise across Europe, MENA, Asia Pac and the Americas. We look forward to welcoming her to the Firm.”

Clifford Chance’s global Restructuring and Insolvency team specialises in complex multi-jurisdictional restructurings and insolvencies with dedicated resources in the key European jurisdictions, the US and Asia. The team has advised on some of the most important restructurings and insolvencies taking place across the globe, including Abengoa, British Steel, Codere, Dubai World, Edcon, Hanjin Shipping Co Ltd, Mongolian Mining, Oi SA, Novo Banco, Russian Standard Bank, Samarco Mineração, and Thomas Cook. The team also recently advised on the development and implementation of the new insolvency law in Saudi Arabia.
