Jackson Lewis Adds Litigator Carmen Jo Rejda-Ponce in Omaha

Nationwide employment law firm Jackson Lewis P.C. welcomes Carmen Jo “CJ” Rejda-Ponce to the firm’s Omaha office as a principal. She has more than 15 years of experience in employment litigation, while also advising employers on employee leave and accommodation, workplace investigations, discipline and termination, policy development and employment-related agreements.

CJ regularly appears before federal and state courts, administrative agencies and arbitration panels. She represents public- and private-sector employers in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, disability accommodation, wage and hour issues, workplace injuries and workers’ compensation retaliation.

“CJ advises employers before workplace law claims arise, defends them in court and argues cases on appeal,” said Alison L. Lynch, Ana C. Shields and Dana G. Weisbrod, leaders of Jackson Lewis’ Employment Litigation group, in a joint statement. “She understands how decisions made early in a dispute can shape the case years later. That perspective reinforces how we serve clients across the country.”

“CJ is a strong advocate for her clients and is known for delivering practical solutions to a host of complex legal issues impacting the employer community,” said Kenneth M. Wentz III, Omaha office managing principal. “Employers throughout the region stand to benefit from her experience, and we’re excited to welcome her to our Omaha team.”

Before joining Jackson Lewis, CJ practiced at a civil litigation and business law firm, where she handled labor and employment matters and civil rights litigation. Her background includes appellate advocacy; she has argued cases before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

CJ is board-certified in labor and employment law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. She earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law and her B.A. from Columbia University.
