Watson, Farley & Williams Boosts NYC Practice With Major Disputes Partner Hire

International law firm Watson Farley & Williams (“WFW”) is delighted to announce that well-regarded litigator Joshua Sohn has joined its New York office as a partner, along with a team of three associates and one paralegal.

Prior to joining WFW, Josh was Head of the Complex Civil Litigation and White Collar Defense Group at Mishcon de Reya New York. Before that he was a partner at DLA Piper and served as co-chair of their National Real Estate Litigation Group. With twenty years’ experience advising clients across a wide range of commercial and regulatory issues, Josh specialises in complex commercial disputes involving real estate, real estate finance, construction and securities matters.

Josh brings with him to WFW New York a team consisting of associates Shauneida Navarette, Mark Lee and Robert Mantel, and paralegal Joe Parilla.

WFW New York Head Daniel Rodgers said: “Josh is an extremely talented lawyer and we are delighted to welcome him to the firm. We believe his experience will enhance the firm’s litigation capabilities in New York, expanding the office’s expertise beyond maritime litigation, which has been its focus to date.”

Managing partner, Chris Lowe, added “Josh and his team joining us in New York demonstrates the strategic importance of our New York office to the ongoing expansion of the firm and the investment we continue to make in our U.S. business, as evidenced by our move to larger new premises at 250 West 55th Street in February 2016.”

Josh commented: “Joining a dynamic firm like WFW is a fantastic opportunity to continue to strengthen and grow my practice and team by leveraging the firm’s broader international transactional and litigation practices to ensure top quality service for my clients across disciplines. I look forward to helping expand WFW’s New York offering.”
