Vinson & Elkins Adds M&A and Private Equity Partner to New York Office

Vinson & Elkins announced today that Francisco J. Morales Barrón has joined the firm in its New York office as a partner in the Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) and Private Equity practice group.  He joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis.

“Vinson & Elkins has a prominent M&A and Private Equity practice that has long been a key component of the firm’s success, advising blue chip clients across some of the most important global industries, such as energy, real estate, technology and infrastructure,” said Jim Fox, Vice Chair of Vinson & Elkins and a partner in the M&A and Private Equity group in New York. “It did not take us long to appreciate that Francisco would be a great addition to our platform.”

Morales’ practice focuses on public and private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity transactions, activist defense, and public company corporate governance. His roster of clients has included KKR, Accenture, Danaher Corporation and Fox Corporation.

Morales received his B.A. degree from Yale University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, where he was an Executive Editor of the Law Review and President of the Latino Law School Association.
