Polsinelli Expands Bankruptcy Capabilities with New York Shareholder Brett Goodman

Polsinelli is pleased to announce that Brett D. Goodman has joined the firm as a shareholder in the Bankruptcy & Restructuring Practice in New York. Goodman’s arrival builds on the momentum of a team of eight real estate attorneys who joined the New York office this summer and reflects the firm’s continued expansion in the region. With nearly 20 years of experience, Goodman focuses his practice on bankruptcy, corporate restructuring and creditors’ rights, particularly in the health care and real estate sectors. Goodman joins the firm from Arent Fox in New York.

Goodman represents debtors, committees of creditors and equity holders, trustees, agents, secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, asset purchasers and landlords in high-stakes bankruptcy cases and out-of-court restructurings nationwide. He also regularly defends and prosecutes avoidance actions and represents lenders in complex commercial workouts and foreclosures.

Goodman’s practice spreads across the capital structure and he advises clients on anticipated risks and opportunities in the rapidly evolving restructuring environment. He has represented clients in distressed situations in major chapter 11 cases and workouts across various sectors, including retail, health care, media, real estate, aerospace and energy.
