Allen & Overy today announced that Adam Sofen has joined the firm from Sullivan & Cromwell LLP as a partner based out of A&O’s New York offices. Sofen’s practice focuses on the commercial real estate market, and lends itself to capturing the real estate related financing and equity work that is a natural extension of A&O’s existing engagements. He will integrate into Allen & Overy’s transactional practices, including Corporate M&A, Private Equity, and Restructuring, among others.
Katten announced today that Kate Scherling has joined its Insolvency and Restructuring practice as a partner in New York, one month after the firm brought on two other new partners to the practice there. Prior to Katten, Scherling was a member of the Bankruptcy and Restructuring practice in the New York office of Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.
