Cozen O’Connor has officially moved into its new office in Manhattan, New York. The new 46,000 square feet space resides on the 19th floor at 277 Park Ave. The firm signed an 11-year sublease. Abby Wenzel, managing partner, explained that the firm is looking to expand. The firm can take in 20 new attorneys and about 10 staff employees.

Kilpatrick Stockton has snagged three new associates for its New York office. Olivia Harris, Breen Sullivan and Ashford Tucker join the firm’s intellectual property group. The group specializes in trademark and copyright litigation.

White & Case has lost its head of global information technology to Latham & Watkins. Steven Betensky has joined Latham in New York. This news comes shortly after Latham & Watkins took on 13 partners from White & Case earlier in the month.

Arent Fox has added Andrew D. Kaizer to its New York office. Kaozer joins as a partner in the white-collar practice. He joins from Michelman & Robinson.

Another partner has fled White & Case. Steve Betensky, the firm’s global IT practice chair. Betensky specializes in trademark and patent licensing agreements. Before moving to White & Case’s New York office, he worked in the Palo Alto and Prague offices.

Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson has just hired a mergers and acquisitions partner for its New York office. Steven Epstein is leaving O’Melveny & Myers for the opportunity with Fried, Frank. He joined O’Melveny in 2005 and became partner in 2007. Looks like Fried, Frank is anticipating a surge in M&A work in 2010!

White & Case has lost yet another partner from its New York office. Elaine Johnston, a competition partner, is leaving the firm for Allen & Overy. Johnston spent the last 17 years at White & Case.

A three lawyer team has migrated from Dewey & LeBoeuf to Winston & Strawn.  Lawrence Larose, lead counsel for MBIA Insurance Corp. last year, Samuel Kohn, counsel at Dewey, and Sarah Trum, an associate are joining Winston in New York.  Winston & Strawn has made it clear that the firm wishes to grow its New York presence and boost its numbers from 200 attorneys to 300.

Dechert snagged Allan Brilliant and Craig Druehl, two restructuring attorneys from Goodwin Procter. Brilliant co-headed the restructuring department at Goodwin since 2005. Druehl was an associate but is joining Dechert as a partner.

Robins Kaplan has big plans for the big apple. The firm has snagged three attorneys from Lovells and will open an office in New York City. David Leichtman, Hillel Parness, and Bryan Vogel will join as intellectual property partners. The big plans? The firm hopes that the new office will one day house 25 to 30 attorneys.
