Morgan Lewis Adds Corporate Transactions Partner in New York

Morgan Lewis today welcomes partner Russell Franklin, a corporate lawyer with a particular focus on mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures. He arrives from Paul Hastings and is resident in New York.

Russell represents private equity clients and operating companies in mergers and acquisitions in numerous sectors, including healthcare, financial services, entertainment, retail, and insurance. He also advises on joint venture formations and other transactional matters, such as those requiring the creation of new corporate entities and management structures.

“Russell is an energetic, entrepreneurial, and collaborative lawyer, and a great fit for our firm,” said Firm Chair Jami McKeon. “Our clients will benefit from his focus on middle-market transactions across a broad range of industries.”

Russell is a fellow of the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, treasurer of the executive board of the Cornell Black Lawyers Alumni Network, and board member of the Sonia & Celina Sotomayor Judicial Internship Program and Legal Services NYC.

“Russell’s substantial skills and experience add strength to our robust corporate practice,” said Steve Browne, who leads Morgan Lewis’s global corporate and business transactions practice. “His wide-ranging background equips him to assist on significant M&A deals in New York, throughout the United States, and around the world.”
