Kennedys Continues US Growth

Kennedys continues to deepen its bench of offerings with the addition of partner Jared Greisman to its New York office. He joins from Goldberg Segalla, where he was a partner in the global insurance services team and chaired its first-party property practice.

Jared’s practice focuses on counseling insurers and handling litigation and arbitration involving first-party property and commercial losses across numerous industries.

In February 2014 Jared was appointed by the U.S. Federal Court, Eastern District of New York, to act as liaison counsel for the private insurance industry in connection with over 1,500 lawsuits following Hurricane Sandy in the United States. Jared’s first-party practice regularly includes providing counsel during the adjustment of claims arising out of catastrophes such as wildfires, hurricanes and other domestic losses as well as handling arbitration and litigation arising out of such losses. In addition to his first-party coverage practice, Jared also has experience handling business disputes for hedge fund advisors, collateral managers and partnerships.

Meg Catalano, US managing partner says: “The current composition of our US offices offers a great platform for Jared’s first-party property practice, providing both local capability from his base in New York and New Jersey, as well as national and international support. Jared already works with a number of the firm’s clients, and his experience strengthens our first-party coverage team in the US.”

Nick Thomas, senior partner at Kennedys, says: “We would like to welcome Jared to the Kennedys team. Jared’s appointment stays true to our strategy of responding to client need and ensuring we offer breadth and depth of experience across the globe. Jared’s focus in first-party property will be a significant asset to many of our clients.”

Jared added: “Kennedys offers a strong US presence and a global platform that increases my capabilities for servicing clients. I am excited to be joining a team where I will be able to work with partners around the globe to strengthen Kennedys’ US based first-party practice.”

Jared, who joins on 22 February, is the fourth partner to be appointed in the US this year following the hires of Eric Hiller to the Miami office, and Joshua Mooney and Sean Mahoney to the firm’s Philadelphia office.
