Jones Day adds Business Restructuring & Reorganization partner Joshua K. Brody to New York Office

The global law firm Jones Day announces that Joshua (Josh) K. Brody has joined the Firm’s New York Office as a partner in its Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice.

“We are pleased to welcome Josh to Jones Day,” said Bruce Bennett, who leads Jones Day’s global Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice. “He has represented a very diverse range of clients in all aspects of complex chapter 11 bankruptcy cases and other distressed situations, and that experience makes him an extremely valuable addition to what is already a very talented team.”

Mr. Brody’s clients include creditors at all levels of complex structures, including secured and unsecured bondholders and bank debtholders, indenture trustees, creditors’ committees and trade creditors. His work has involved everything from negotiating and litigating reorganization plans, to complex claims litigation and debtor-in-possession financing.

In addition to his work on behalf of creditors, Mr. Brody represents debtors in chapter 11 proceedings, helping them navigate successful restructurings, both through the confirmation of a chapter 11 plan and through Section 363 asset sales. He also advises hedge funds and other financial institutions on the rights and remedies of various debtholders and in understanding complex corporate and capital structures.

“Josh has demonstrated, time and time again, his ability to deliver creative, client-focused solutions when working on restructuring matters across industries,” added Scott Greenberg, co-head of the Business Restructuring & Reorganization Practice in Jones Day’s New York Office. “Josh’s capabilities will be particularly suited to our growing and well-regarded creditor practice. As someone I’ve known since early in our respective careers, I am confident he will be a great addition to the team we continue to build in New York and worldwide, and I am very happy to welcome him to Jones Day.”
