Insurance Litigation Specialist Joins Squire Patton Boggs

Squire Patton Boggs today announced that insurance litigation partner Elizabeth Ahlstrand has joined the New York office, strengthening the firm’s credentials handling complex coverage disputes. Joining from Gfeller Laurie LLP where she was partner, Ms. Ahlstrand represents some of the nation’s largest insurance companies, concentrating her practice on high-value first party and third party insurance coverage and bad faith litigation in the state and federal courts across the greater Northeast.

“Beth’s impressive track record handling high-stakes litigation for insurance carriers makes her an exceptional fit into our nationally recognized practice,” said New York managing partner Greg Gale. “We have a number of common clients and her addition will open new avenues for work and deepen our offering to clients across the sector who are facing disputes.”

Ms. Ahlstrand’s experience spans an array of insurance products, including commercial general liability, cyber, personal lines, life and disability, professional liability, employers’ liability, umbrella, excess, and surplus lines policies. Ms. Ahlstrand also advises clients on policy drafting, with a particular focus on policy wording for cyber products, and provides claim evaluation and monitoring for high exposures claims.

Ms. Ahlstrand also has significant civil litigation / insurance defense experience, particularly in the areas of product liability, construction defect, life sciences, and catastrophic sports and recreation accidents.

“Squire Patton Boggs’ strong reputation in the insurance space, collaborative culture and extensive platform from which I can serve clients made it a compelling destination to take my practice,” said Ms. Ahlstrand. “I’m excited for this new chapter and look forward to working closely with my colleagues across the firm to build upon its success.”
