Goodwin Welcomes Private Equity Funds Partner Esther Chiang in New York

Goodwin, the global law firm serving innovators and investors, today announced that Esther Chiang joined the firm’s Private Investment Funds practice as a partner, resident in the New York office. Chiang joins Goodwin from the New York office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP.

Chiang focuses her practice on the organization, structuring, and operation of U.S. and non-U.S. private investment funds across different strategies, including private equity funds, infrastructure funds, and funds of funds. Chiang also has extensive experience representing sponsors and investors in secondary transactions and similar liquidation solutions, as well as other bespoke corporate transactions involving private investment funds.

Goodwin’s approximately 200-lawyer Private Investment Funds practice supports over 500 investment managers raising capital to invest in the private equity, real estate, technology, and life sciences sectors. In the past 18 months, the practice closed more than 60 funds totaling over $200 billion in raised capital. The firm was recently named the top law firm for fund formation by Law360, the Legal 500 UK Awards, IJ Global, and SuperReturn Awards.
