Dentons Adds Robert M. Wasnofski, Jr. as an IP Partner

Dentons, the world’s largest law firm, today announced that Robert M. Wasnofski, Jr. joins the Intellectual Property and Technology practice as a partner in its New York office. He will be an integral part of the Firm’s team of lawyers in respect to securing and protecting intellectual property rights, with an emphasis on trademark, unfair competition, false advertising and copyright litigation.

Wasnofski has over 20 years of experience resolving intellectual property disputes for clients across many industries, including the luxury brand, apparel, financial services, telecommunications, entertainment, and toy industries. Given that many of his clients operate internationally, such disputes often extend far beyond the borders of the US.

“Bob’s intellectual property experience, particularly his focus on litigation, is an excellent complement to our thriving New York practice,” said US CEO Mike McNamara. “His client base fits well with ours, and will help us leverage our shared US and international interests, to the benefit of our clients on many levels.”

Wasnofski regularly litigates disputes in federal courts across the country involving allegations of trademark infringement, counterfeiting, unfair competition, and copyright infringement, and has handled hundreds of trademark disputes before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He also has significant experience litigating patent infringement claims. Having spent his entire career focused on intellectual property, Wasnofski also handles trademark and copyright clearance, prosecution and licensing, due diligence, and the negotiation and drafting of agreements for the purchase and sale of intellectual property assets.

“Dentons’ vast international platform, with offices in more than 75 countries, and its focus on innovation, were among the reasons I decided to make the switch,” said Wasnofski about his move to Dentons. “Without question, my clients will benefit from Dentons’ footprint and its innovative culture.”
