Cozen O’Connor Expands Corporate Law Practice in New York

Cozen O’Connor is pleased to announce that Rogelio “Roy” J. Carrasquillo has been hired as a member of the firm’s Corporate Law Practice. He joins Cozen O’Connor from Fox Rothschild and will be resident in the New York office.

Mr. Carrasquillo counsels clients on corporate finance, and real estate and infrastructure development, with an emphasis on Puerto Rico and the Latin American region. He advises domestic and foreign companies, multinationals, and entrepreneurs on their business activities and investment considerations in the United States and throughout Latin America, Asia, and Europe, including cross-border transactions.

Mr. Carrasquillo also brings a wealth of EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program experience to his practice. He represents public and private clients filing for an EB-5 Regional Center designation from U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, as well as developers seeking to raise capital using the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program. Additionally, he handles public-private partnership projects leveraging EB-5 funds and other economic and tax incentives, as well as the combination of EB-5 financing with other programs.

“We are thrilled to have Roy join our New York office,” said Jeffrey A. Leonard, chair of Cozen O’Connor’s Business Law Section. “His depth of experience advising domestic and foreign entities on business activities and investment considerations in the United States, Latin America, Asia and Europe brings enormous value to our clients. In addition, Roy’s expertise in EB-5 immigrant investor financing is a tremendous asset for our clients across the country.”

Mr. Carrasquillo joins his former colleagues and leading immigration attorneys Scott E. Bettridge, Michael W. Stevenson and Daniela Berisiartu, all of whom joined Cozen O’Connor’s Miami office earlier this month, practicing in the firm’s Labor & Employment Group.

Mr. Carrasquillo received his J.D. from University of Pennsylvania Law School and his B.S. from Georgetown University.
