Clifford Chance Adds Partner Hugo Triaca to Its US Capital Markets and Latin America Practices

Clifford Chance today announced that Hugo Triaca has joined the Firm’s Capital Markets and Latin America practices as a partner in New York. Triaca joins from Skadden, where he represented companies and investment banks in a variety of public and private corporate finance transactions in the United States and Latin America.

Triaca’s experience includes equity offerings, high-yield and investment-grade debt offerings, hybrid securities transactions, restructuring transactions, acquisition financings and other corporate transactions. He regularly advises foreign private issuers in connection with corporate governance, US securities laws and general corporate matters.

Triaca has also practiced law in his native Argentina, where he advised clients on a broad range of Argentine legal and regulatory matters. His arrival further strengthens Clifford Chance’s position as one of the leading international legal advisors in Latin America. The Firm has led the way in developing successful, novel financing structures for a diverse client base, supported by a dedicated Latin America group that advises issuers and underwriters on sovereign, corporate and project bonds.

“Hugo’s addition underscores our Firm’s ongoing commitment to Latin America, where we have been serving clients for nearly 40 years,” said Robert Cohen, regional managing partner of the Americas. “The strategic expansion of our team sends a clear message about the importance of Latin America for the clients we serve there and for those looking to make investments across the region. I am delighted to welcome Hugo aboard.”

Jon Zonis, co-head of the Firm’s Americas Capital Markets and Latin America practices said: “Hugo’s arrival deepens our Spanish-speaking bench and expands key alliances across Latin America. His excellent reputation among issuers and underwriters further strengthens our position in the international debt and equity markets.”

“Clifford Chance is dedicated to LatAm and has handled landmark transactions across the region,” said Triaca. “I am proud to be joining a Firm that combines global standards with in-depth local expertise and a team that takes an innovative approach to the Latin America markets.”
