Baker Botts Expands New York Corporate TMT Practice with Experienced M&A Partner Nicole Perez

Baker Botts L.L.P., a leading international technology and energy law firm, announced today the arrival of Nicole Perez as a partner in the Corporate Department in New York, to bolster the firm’s service to clients in the telecommunications, media & technology (TMT) sector. Ms. Perez is the fourth lateral partner to join Baker Botts’ New York office since early August. She joins Baker Botts from Greenberg Traurig, where she was a corporate partner in the New York office.

“Nicole’s addition to the Corporate practice will further strengthen our transactional capabilities, particularly in the TMT sector,” said John Martin, Managing Partner of Baker Botts. “We are excited for Nicole to join the firm. Her extensive M&A experience will benefit the firm and its clients as we continue to expand the firm’s footprint in TMT, which is an important component of our firm’s strategy.”

Ms. Perez focuses her practice on complex, cross-border and domestic public and private mergers and acquisitions in the TMT sector and a wide range of other sectors, including private equity. She also handles complex joint ventures and strategic alliances and proxy contests, and advises corporations, boards of directors and special committees on corporate governance and general corporate matters, including fiduciary duty and compliance issues, and takeover preparedness.

“Nicole has decades of experience in key sectors, including TMT and private equity, that are essential to support the needs of our clients,” said Mike Bengtson, Firmwide Chair of Baker Botts’ Corporate Department, who is based in New York. “Nicole’s experience will complement our corporate team and will be an asset to our domestic and international clients.”
