Former Federal Prosecutor Andrew Fish Joins Locke Lord LLP as New York Partner in White Collar/Internal Investigations Practice

Longtime Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew Fish has joined international law firm Locke Lord’s New York office as a Partner in its nationwide White Collar/Internal Investigations Practice. Fish has served with the criminal division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York for 14 years, most recently as deputy chief of the appeals unit and previously with the securities and commodities fraud task force and the major crimes unit. As a member of Locke Lord’s Litigation Department, Fish’s widespread experience in insider trading, securities fraud, bank fraud, wire fraud, embezzlement and other jury trials will expand the Firm’s capabilities in the White Collar/Internal Investigations arena and also provide valuable synergies with the Antitrust and IP Pharmaceutical practices.

During the course of his well-respected career with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Fish served as trial counsel in 13 criminal jury trials, including trials involving charges of insider trading and securities market manipulation. Fish has also appeared regularly before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where he represented the Government on appeal in several insider trading cases, including United States v. Raj Rajaratnam. Fish was a recipient of the Attorney General’s Award for Distinguished Service in 2012. He is registered to practice in patent cases before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

“Andy is an experienced trial and appellate advocate with outstanding credentials, and we look forward to the knowledge he brings to our White Collar and other practices,” said Paul Coggins, Chair of the White Collar/Internal Investigations Practice Group. “His diverse background is a rare blend of science and the law, and his experience will be valuable across a number of Firm practices.”

Fish is a cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School, where he was editor of the Harvard Law Review. He earned his undergraduate degrees in chemistry and political science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Amalya L. Kearse of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Before joining the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Fish was a litigation associate with the Dechert law firm.
