McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP Welcomes Anthony Williams

McKenna Long & Aldridge LLP (MLA) is pleased to announce that Anthony Williams will join the firm as a partner in its New York office, effective March 4, 2013. Williams, who has decades of cross-border and international experience, will focus on commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance and securities, and private equity investments, for both U.S. and non-U.S. clients. He will also serve as general counsel to family offices, working with MLA’s Private Client Services team and other professionals to manage all of their legal and business needs.

“Tony is a key piece in expanding the services we provide out of our New York office,” said New York Executive Partner, Ambassador Gordon Giffin. “His extensive experience complements our strategic efforts to continually provide top quality work, value and service to benefit our clients’ interests at the local, national and international levels.”

Williams will work alongside Ambassador Giffin as Co-Executive Partner of the New York office and will join the firm’s Corporate practice, which has been ranked by The Legal 500 as Tier 1 for Mergers & Acquisitions for the past five years. This is the second corporate partner MLA has added to the New York office this year; in January MLA welcomed partner Dick Sigal to the firm.

“We continue to purposely grow our Corporate practice to better serve client needs and offer increased value,” said Wayne Bradley, Corporate Department Chair. “Tony’s strong background in domestic and international transactions, coupled with his family office experience, is a great fit for our practice and we are thrilled to have him join the firm.”

After working in its Hong Kong office and founding its San Francisco office, Williams served as Chairman of Coudert Brothers LLP from 1993 to 2001. He has deep international experience in financial management, investments, accounting and business development. He received an A.B. in Government and Economics from Harvard University and a Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. He has been admitted to the Bars of the U.S. Supreme Court, the State of New York and the State of California.
