Kleinberg Kaplan Adds Experienced Trusts and Estates Attorneys Claudio A. De Vellis and Dorothy J. Santos

Kleinberg, Kaplan, Wolff & Cohen, P.C. is proud to announce that attorneys Claudio A. De Vellis and Dorothy J. Santos have joined the firm in the Estate Planning and Administration Practice. De Vellis joins as a Member and Santos joins as an Associate.

De Vellis, a trusts and estates attorney with over  15 years of experience, counsels individuals, closely-held businesses, and charitable organizations on a broad range of tax and wealth preservation matters, including all aspects of estate planning, retirement planning, income, estate, and gift tax treatment of charitable giving, and pre-immigration and tax planning for international families. He advises clients in the purchase and sale of business interests, and structures business succession plans. He also represents individual and corporate fiduciaries in connection with the administration of estates, as well as disputes arising out of the administration of estates and trusts.

De Vellis joins the firm from the New York City office of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP where he was a partner in the Estate Planning and Wealth Protection Practice. Previously, he practiced in the area of trusts and estates at other New York law firms, including Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson  LLP. De Vellis is also a Certified Public Accountant and practiced with a regional New York accounting firm prior to beginning his law career.

Santos focuses her practice on estate and tax planning and administration.  She joins the firm from the Estate Planning and Wealth Protection Practice of the New York City office of Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP.  Santos earned her J.D., magna cum laude, from New York Law School, and also has a Bachelor of Science,  summa cum laude, from the University of Albany, State University of New York.
