Leading Immigration Attorney Avram Morell Joins Pryor Cashman

Pryor Cashman LLP is pleased to announce that Avram E. Morell, former special immigration counsel at Proskauer Rose LLP, has joined the firm as a partner in the Immigration Group in New York. Morell brings with him associate Michael Cruse and paralegal Mary Jo Bradley.

A seasoned immigration attorney, Morell advises clients on a wide range of immigration and nationality law issues, including counseling businesses large and small in the hiring of foreign employees, obtaining immigrant and non-immigrant visas for professionals, advising employers on all areas of immigration compliance including navigating J-1 visa requirements. Morell has also litigated complex political asylum and Convention Against Torture cases.

Morell’s arrival comes after the recent additions of Immigration Group chair, Colleen Caden from Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy, LLP, and partner Alice Stock from Lowenstein Sandler PC, and is part of Pryor Cashman’s ongoing and strategic expansion of the firm’s international immigration capabilities.

“The addition of Avi to our Immigration practice brings both talent and important clients, making our firm a real player among the immigration bar,” said Ronald H. Shechtman, Pryor Cashman’s Managing Partner and Chair of the firm’s Labor and Employment Group.

Morell’s clients include some of the world’s leading companies in a variety of industries such as fashion, financial services, healthcare, education, and consumer products.

“The firm’s impressive depth of expertise, global capabilities and competitive pricing structure make it a very attractive solution for my clients, who are looking for high-level legal counsel at reasonable rates,” said Morell. “Pryor Cashman has carved out a unique position as a successful midsize firm offering a full complement of legal services while maintaining its entrepreneurial spirit. I look forward to working in this unique environment and joining this highly respected team.”
