Albert Pinzon Joins Edwards Wildman as a Business Law Partner in New York

Edwards Wildman Palmer LLP is pleased to announce that Albert J. Pinzon, a highly regarded capital markets lawyer, is a new partner in the Business Law Department. Pinzon will reside in the firm’s growing office in New York.

With more than two decades of experience, Pinzon represents buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, including Latin American asset-based lending transactions, and alternative risk transfer capital markets transactions. In addition, he advises clients on legal and regulatory issues concerning life, property/casualty, and financial guaranty insurance transactions. Pinzon also brings a background in insurance-linked securities, focusing on life settlements, premium finance, life and annuity securitizations, regulation XXX and AXXX reserve funding transactions, policy warehouse lending facilities, and cat bonds.

Pinzon comes to Edwards Wildman from Cozen O’Connor, where he practiced in the Corporate and Capital Markets Group. After graduating from college, Pinzon was a currency trader, forming the capital markets corporate group at Sumitomo Bank Ltd., now the Sumitomo Mitsui Bank. Pinzon also helped form the Institutional Life Markets Association, a leading trade association for institutional players in the life settlements and premium finance sectors.

Pinzon earned his undergraduate degree from Columbia University and his law degree from Syracuse University. He is admitted to practice in New York.
