Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP today announced that David Y. Dickstein has joined the firm as a partner in its Financial Services Practice out of New York. Mr. Dickstein focuses his work on providing counsel to hedge funds, investment companies, investment advisors and broker-dealers on regulatory, compliance and operational issues. Additionally, he has broad experience in advising businesses responding to investigations by the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Prior to joining Katten, Mr. Dickstein was a partner in the New York office of K&L Gates LLP, where he spent his entire career since graduation from law school.

Mr. Dickstein regularly counsels investment advisors on registration and regulatory matters, such as the need for registration, conflict of interest disclosures, soft dollars and best execution, firm advertising and marketing, federal and state pay-to-play matters, trade allocations, personal trading and SEC inspections. Mr. Dickstein also advises broker-dealers on registration and ongoing compliance matters, mutual fund supermarkets on mutual fund distribution issues, and brokerage and advisory firms in structuring and offering new wrap fee programs and other financial products.
Mr. Dickstein earned his JD from Columbia University Law School in 1997, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and his BA, magna cum laude, from Yeshiva College in 1991, where he received the Chaplain Joseph I. Hoenig Memorial Award for Excellence in Psychology.
