Shearman & Sterling Advises on HudBay Mineral Inc.’s $500 Million Notes Offering

Shearman & Sterling represented Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith Incorporated as sole bookrunning manager and representative of the several initial purchasers in connection with HudBay Minerals Inc.’s (“HudBay”) offering of $500,000,000 of its 9.50% Senior Notes due 2020.

HudBay is an integrated mining company based in Canada that produces copper concentrate (containing copper, gold and silver) and zinc metal. With assets in North and South America, HudBay is focused on the discovery, production and marketing of base and precious metals. The proceeds of the offering will be used for general corporate purposes and the development of HudBay’s Lalor and Reed projects in Manitoba and Constancia project in Peru.
