American Express Chief Privacy Officer Andy Roth Joins SNR Denton

SNR Denton announced today that Andy Roth, a respected leader in privacy and security law, has joined the firm as a partner in the New York office. He will advise clients on a wide range of issues from crisis management to best practices in sustainable data governance.

Roth joins SNR Denton from American Express Company where he was Chief Privacy Officer. Under his leadership American Express was ranked The #1 Most Trusted Company for Privacy four years in a row by The Ponemon Institute while launching bold new digital partnerships and initiatives.

“Andy’s legal knowledge, technology savvy and operational experience are a great addition, further enabling our global team in counseling clients not just on compliance with privacy and security laws, but on how to leverage data to drive transformation,” said Mike McNamara, SNR Denton’s US Managing Partner. “This is a dynamic space with a shifting regulatory landscape. Andy’s close relationships with privacy leaders around the world, including in Washington, DC, London and Silicon Valley, will help keep our clients on the cutting edge.”

At American Express, Roth was responsible for ensuring the privacy of more than 100 million customers and 60,000 employees worldwide.
