Mayer Brown Enhances Intellectual Property Practice with Arrival of Partner Amr Aly in New York

Mayer Brown, a leading global law firm, announced today that Amr Aly has joined the firm in New York as a partner in the Intellectual Property practice.

“With more than 16 years of trial experience in patent litigation, Amr’s addition continues to build upon the depth and strength of our Intellectual Property practice and further enhances our capabilities to service our clients’ needs in patent litigation, particularly in the technology and pharmaceutical sectors,” said John Mancini, co-leader of Mayer Brown’s global Intellectual Property practice.

Mr. Aly focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation with emphasis on patent matters. He has broad experience in several fields, including telecom, networking, data encryption and security, Internet, biotechnology, banking, chemical and pharmaceutical. He has been involved in major complex litigations, including multiparty and multidistrict litigations, and has been a key member of litigation teams that secured favorable pre-trial results that were affirmed by the Federal Circuit.

Before joining Mayer Brown, Mr. Aly was a partner with Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton in New York. He received a JD from Seton Hall University School of Law, an MBA from Hofstra University and a BS in chemical engineering and a BA in pre-engineering from Columbia University. He also is a former member of the United States National and Olympic soccer teams.
