Shearman & Sterling Represents LMA International on Acquisition by Teleflex

Shearman & Sterling advised LMA International N.V. (LMA), a Curaçao limited liability company listed on the Singapore Exchange, on its acquisition by Teleflex Incorporated in a transaction valued at approximately $276 million. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2012 and remains subject to shareholder and regulatory approvals, as well as other customary closing conditions.

LMA designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes laryngeal masks and other medical devices. Laryngeal masks are medical devices used by physicians to support the airway of patients undergoing surgical procedures and emergency interventions. LMA is the global market leader for such devices.

Teleflex is a global provider of medical devices used in critical care and surgery. The company serves healthcare providers in more than 130 countries with specialty devices for vascular access, general and regional anesthesia, urology, respiratory care, cardiac care and surgery. Teleflex also provides products and services for device manufacturers.
