Gibbons Welcomes New Directors William Moran, Peter Flagel and Suzanne L’Hernault

Gibbons P.C. continues its strategic expansion in key markets, industries, and service areas with the addition of three experienced, highly regarded attorneys. William M. Moran, Suzanne L’Hernault, and Peter Flägel have recently joined the firm as Directors, Mr. Moran in the Business & Commercial Litigation Department and Mr. Flägel and Ms. L’Hernault in the Corporate Department.

Mr. Moran and Ms. L’Hernault sharpen the firm’s focus on the financial services industry and add to the depth and scope of the complex financing transactions Gibbons handles for clients. Mr. Flägel will be resident in the firm’s New York office, where Mr. Moran will also practice, thus expanding the firm’s New York presence and profile in both the litigation and transactional arenas, which has been key to the Gibbons growth and client service strategies. Mr. Flägel’s practice will also significantly broaden the services that Gibbons provides to foreign clients doing business in the United States and domestic clients doing business abroad.

“We identified the key market segments we could be servicing more comprehensively and the cutting-edge legal services most important to our client base, and we found the very best attorneys to help us meet these needs,” says Patrick C. Dunican Jr., Chairman and Managing Director of Gibbons. “Moreover, Bill, Suzanne, and Peter possess all the qualities that support the longstanding Gibbons tradition of excellence.”

Mr. Moran was highlighted in the National Law Journal’s 2011 “Winning Litigators” feature. He joins Gibbons from McCarter & English, where he represented banks, corporations, investment companies, shareholders, and individuals in the financial services industry. He has extensive trial and appellate experience in federal and state courts, as well as in arbitration proceedings and regulatory and compliance settings, usually in cases arising from the securities and banking laws. He earned his J.D. from The Catholic University of America Columbus School of Law and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Ms. L’Hernault joins Gibbons from Lowenstein Sandler PC, where her practice focused on representing lenders in all aspects of secured and unsecured financing transactions, including drafting and negotiating credit agreements, security documents, subordination agreements, inter-creditor agreements, and debt restructuring agreements. She earned her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York.

Prior to joining Gibbons, Mr. Flägel was a Director at Carter Ledyard & Milburn LLP, where his practice focused on general corporate mergers and acquisitions for private and public companies, including negotiation and drafting of asset purchase agreements, share purchase agreements, merger agreements, shareholder agreements, joint venture agreements, stock option plans, board resolutions, and corporate certificates. He earned his LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law and his Doktor Juris from Georgia-Augusta University in Göttingen, Germany. He is admitted to practice in New York and Germany.
