Top Financial Services Lawyer Joins Holland & Knight

Holland & Knight continues to strengthen its New York office by adding distinguished partners to the team. The firm is pleased to announce that Eileen Bannon, formerly of Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP, is now a partner in its Financial Services Practice Group. She joins Stuart Saft and Ken Lowenstein as the third high-profile partner to be added within the last six months.

“Holland & Knight has assembled a high-caliber team of financial services lawyers,” said Ms. Bannon. “I am delighted to be part of this group with its outstanding reputation and premier list of clients.”

Ms. Bannon’s practice includes the representation of capital market participants in a wide variety of transactions including interest rate and credit derivatives, total return and market value swaps, repurchase agreements, securities lending agreements and insurance-linked products. She also counsels clients on the implications of Title VII of Dodd-Frank on their derivative businesses, and the treatment of derivative and other safe harbor contracts in insolvency.

Ms. Bannon also has extensive experience in structured capital market transactions. She advises clients on the structuring and documentation of multi-seller and single-seller asset-backed commercial paper programs, synthetic, market value and cash CDOs and CLOs, and various exotic asset-backed securities offerings.

“Eileen brings a wealth of talent in the derivatives space as well as in complex structured finance and securitization transactions,” said James McDermott, the firm’s Business Section leader. “She will add depth to our Financial Services Practice Group, both in New York and nationally.”

Ms. Bannon received a J.D. degree from New York University School of Law, an M.S. degree from Seton Hall University and a B.A. degree from Notre Dame College of Staten Island. She has been recognized as a “Leading Lawyer” by Chambers Global, Chambers USA and Legal 500 US.
