Chadbourne represented WAMEX Private Equity Management L.L.C. on the formation of Multinational Industrial Fund II, L.P., which held its final closing in March 2012. The fund represents the second private equity fund raised by WAMEX, and was formed to make growth equity investments in a broad spectrum of sectors throughout Mexico.
WAMEX was able to achieve its fundraising target raising US$155 million of aggregate capital commitments for its offshore fund and domestic trust. WAMEX is an established Mexico based alternative asset manager and, on behalf of its managed funds, has made 11 growth equity investments to date across a variety of sectors, including healthcare, tourism, logistics, manufacturing and renewable energy.
The fund will invest alongside its domestic parallel fund, MIF MX, a Mexican publicly listed trust. Through MIF MX, WAMEX was the first private equity sponsor to raise capital from domestic pension funds via a publicly listed CKD (Certificados de Capital de Desarrollo) vehicle on the Mexican stock exchange.
The Chadbourne team was led by partners Talbert Navia and Scott Naidech, along with Edouard Markson on tax and Marjorie Glover on ERISA.
