Davis Polk Advises Eike Batista’s EBX Group on GE’s Strategic Investment in the EBX Group

Davis Polk is advising Eike Batista’s EBX Group on a strategic investment by GE. Specifically, GE will make a $300 million investment in exchange for a preferred interest in Centennial Asset Brazilian Equity and other offshore holding companies of the EBX group.

 

Eike Batista is the founder of EBX Group, which is made up of five Brazilian publicly traded companies listed on the BM&FBOVESPA Novo Mercado: OGX (oil), MPX (energy), LLX (logistics), MMX (mining) and OSX (offshore naval industry), as well as a portfolio of private companies. GE is a Fairfield, Connecticut-based global industrial conglomerate.
