Pillsbury today announced that Peter A. Baumgaertner has joined the firm’s Corporate & Securities practice section as a partner in its New York office. With a broad, international practice spanning capital markets, infrastructure projects, commercial lending and securities, Baumgaertner is a perfect fit within several of Pillsbury’s strategic practice areas, including project finance, energy, capital markets and insolvency. He arrives from Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP and becomes the eighth partner Pillsbury has added in New York this year.

Peter A. Baumgaertner works with governmental units, equity sponsors, public utilities, institutional investors, investment bankers, credit enhancement providers, lenders and indenture trustees in connection with asset securitization matters, corporate and project financings and restructurings. His practice includes representing clients in complex capital markets and commercial lending transactions, and representing issuers, institutional purchasers and underwriters of municipal securities including qualified private activity bonds issued by state and local industrial development agencies. Baumgaertner also represents investment banking firms and project financiers in the U.S., Africa and Latin America in connection with the structuring of collateralized debt obligations involving the energy and insurance industries. He received his B.A. from Washington and Lee University and his J.D. from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
