Eight more lawyers recently left Dewey & LeBoeuf LLP for jobs with two other firms looking to expand their energy practices.
Six of the lawyers left for the New York office of Hunton & Williams LLP, which also has Dallas legal jobs at its Texas branch. This group was headed by Bud Ellis, who was the co-head of Dewey’s utilities, power and pipelines group, and also includes Kevin Felz, Michael Fitzpatrick Jr., Steven Friend, Steve Loeshelle and Peter O’Brien, according to a statement from Hunton.
Jeff Schroeder, the co-head of the Hunton’s energy and infrastructure group, said the new additions will strengthen the practice.
“This team of lawyers is well known to us. They are leading lawyers in the power and utility capital markets, and their strong issuer and underwriter experience in these industries adds further depth to our established global practice. We are delighted to welcome them to Hunton & Williams,” he said.
The other two lawyers joined Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP, reports Bloomberg.
More than 60 partners have left Dewey since the beginning of the year, after salary reductions were enacted following a weak financial 2011 for the firm.
