Davis Polk Advises Eike Batista’s EBX Group on Its Strategic Partnership with Mubadala

Davis Polk is advising Eike Batista’s EBX Group on its strategic partnership with Mubadala Development Company. Mubadala will make a $2 billion investment in exchange for a 5.63% preferred equity interest in Centennial Asset Brazilian Equity Fund LLC and other offshore holding companies of Mr. Batista.

Eike Batista is the founder of EBX Group, which is made up of five Brazilian publicly traded companies: OGX (oil), MPX (energy), LLX (logistics), MMX (mining) and OSX (offshore naval industry), and various other private enterprises. Mubadala Development Company, established and owned by the Government of Abu Dhabi, creates partnerships and makes long-term investments that contribute to the growth and diversification of its economy.
