Perkins Coie Launches IP, Corporate Capabilities in New York

Perkins Coie has added three Partners and one Of Counsel in New York. John Squires joins as Partner in the Intellectual Property practice, Dennis Hopkins joins as Partner in the Patent Litigation practice and Richard Ross joins as Partner in the Business practice. Charles Fish also joins as Of Counsel in the Intellectual Property practice. All were previously with Chadbourne & Parke in New York.

Squires, who previously served as Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property practice at Chadbourne & Parke, formerly was Chief Intellectual Property Counsel at Goldman Sachs, where he created one of the leading intellectual property programs in the financial services industry.

Hopkins focuses his practice on intellectual property litigation, including mediations, trials and appeals. His practice also includes counseling clients on issues relating to litigation strategies and intellectual property management with experience in all aspects of brand and domain name protection.
Ross focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general corporate law. Formerly at Skadden Arps and Goldman Sachs, he has extensive experience representing clients in public and private transactions, negotiated acquisitions and contested takeovers, joint ventures, spin-offs and other corporate transactions.
Fish advises on all aspects of intellectual property procurement and deployment, from long-term patent portfolio strategy through day-to-day tactical value extraction. Formerly Chief Patent Counsel for Time Warner Inc. and General Instrument Corp., he has acted in all phases of U.S. patent and trade secret litigations and arbitrations and regularly counsels clients on intellectual property diligence connected with acquisitions, investments and joint ventures.
