White & Case Boosts Its Global Capital Markets Expertise With New Partners in New York and Stockholm

Global law firm White & Case LLP has bolstered its international capital markets capabilities with the addition of F. Holt Goddard and Rikard Stenberg as partners in New York and Stockholm, respectively. With their arrival, White & Case has added seven partners in recent months to its Global Capital Markets Practice, which is a strategic priority of the Firm.

“Holt and Rikard are highly talented lawyers who bring a wealth of legal and business experience to the Firm,” said Petri Haussila, head of White & Case’s Global Capital Markets Practice. “In addition to representing banks and other financial institutions, as well as issuer clients, in debt and equity capital markets transactions, Holt and Rikard will provide clients with local and international expertise, significantly enhancing our ability to advise on debt and equity capital markets transactions in the US and Europe.”
Goddard, who joins the Firm from Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP where he was special counsel, focuses his practice on securities offerings, including equity, high-yield debt and investment grade debt for domestic and foreign issuers. He represents both issuers and underwriters on a wide range of securities offerings and other corporate financings in a variety of industries, including financial services, energy and technology.
“Holt greatly expands our equity capital markets footprint in the United States, substantially broadening our ability to work with investment banks and issuers in IPOs and other SEC-registered equity offerings,” said John Donovan, head of White & Case’s Capital Markets Section in the Americas. “He will also enhance our ability to advise technology companies in Europe, including the Commonwealth of Independent States, which are increasingly looking to access the equity capital markets in the United States.”
Stenberg joins White & Case from Swedish law firm Vinge, where he was a partner. His experience includes working across a variety of sectors and advising on a range of transactions, including IPOs, convertible bond issuance and rights issues, as well as public M&A transactions. His clients include corporates, as well as financial institutions and investment banks.
“Rikard brings with him deep local knowledge, as well as extensive experience with international clients,” said Rob Mathews, head of White & Case’s Banking and Capital Markets Section in Western Europe, the Middle East and Africa. “He strengthens our capital markets expertise not only in Sweden and the Nordic region but also internationally, where he will work with our Helsinki, London, New York and other offices to advise our Swedish and multinational clients on both domestic and cross-border transactions.”
The arrival of Goddard and Stenberg brings to seven the number of new partners that White & Case has added to its Global Capital Markets Practice in recent months. Partners Michael Immordino and Ian Clark joined the Firm in July 2011, followed by Ferigo Foscari in September. In addition, Melissa Butler and Sean Johnson were promoted to capital markets partners as part of the Firm’s 2012 new partner promotions.
