International law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Jonathan R. Streeter will join the firm in February as a litigation partner. Streeter most recently was Deputy Chief of the Criminal Division at the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Streeter served as trial counsel for the government on United States v. Raj Rajaratnam, the largest hedge fund insider trading case in history, which culminated in a conviction at trial against the head of the Galleon hedge funds. Streeter was also recently lead trial counsel for the Government on United States v. Anthony Cuti and William Tennant, an accounting fraud case against the former CEO and CFO of Duane Reade who were convicted at trial on securities fraud and conspiracy charges, and United States v. James Gansman, an insider trading case against a former partner at Ernst & Young who was convicted at trial on securities fraud charges.
A graduate of Colgate University (A.B., 1990) and Northwestern University School of Law (J.D., 1994), he served as a law clerk for the Hon. Melvin T. Brunetti, United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit from 1994-1995.
