Proskauer Expands Antitrust Group With Addition Of Helene Jaffe As Partner And Co-Head

Proskauer announced the expansion of its Antitrust Group with the addition of Helene D. Jaffe as a Partner in New York City and co-head of the practice.

Ms. Jaffe concentrates her practice on the transactional, counseling and litigation aspects of antitrust issues, particularly mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures, single firm conduct and distribution matters, as well as advertising and marketing issues. She was formerly the global co-head of the Antitrust/Competition practice at Weil, Gotshal & Manges.
“Helene’s history of handling some of the largest, most high-profile antitrust matters in the country make her an exciting and valuable addition to our practice,” said Ronald S. Rauchberg, co-head of Proskauer’s Antitrust Group.
Ms. Jaffe regularly appears before the international, federal and state antitrust and consumer protection agencies, and the federal judiciary, representing clients who are either buying or selling companies, as well as clients whose pricing, promotional or marketing practices are under challenge. She has also been involved in numerous Lanham Act advertising, trademark and trade dress cases regarding a broad spectrum of consumer products and services.

Ms. Jaffe is also an Adjunct Associate Professor at New York University School of Law, where she teaches a graduate course in Federal Trade Commission Law. She was on the Council of the American Bar Association’s Antitrust Section, has served as the chair of the ABA’s Consumer Protection Committee, vice-chair of the ABA’s Clayton Act Committee, chair of the Committee on Trade Regulation of the New York County Lawyer’s Association, and a member of the Trade Regulation Committee of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York. She is also a member of the Advisory Board of BNA’s Antitrust & Trade Regulation Report. Ms. Jaffe received her J.D. from Columbia Law School and her B.A. from Barnard College.
