Keith N. Costa has joined Schiff Hardin LLP as a Partner in the Restructuring, Bankruptcy and Creditors’ Rights Group from Akerman Senterfitt LLP in New York. 

Mr. Costa’s practice is focused on bankruptcy and insolvency, out-of-court workouts and debt restructuring, commercial litigation, acquisition of distressed assets, financial institutions and alternative dispute resolution. 

He represents creditors, both secured and unsecured, in bankruptcy proceedings of all types nationwide, and has experience as a Chapter 11 trustee and examiner. Mr. Costa formerly served with the U.S. Department of Justice for 11 years as Assistant U.S. Trustee in the Southern District of New York and as Senior Trial Counsel in the District of Connecticut. 

Mr. Costa graduated from American University Washington College of Law (J.D., 1983) and the University of Connecticut Honors Program (B.A., History, 1980).
